Don’t miss a special double feature event sponsored by The Pride Center of New Jersey and coming to Jersey City on August 7, 2026.
The night opens with Because of you: A history of Kilawin Kolektibo, a vibrant documentary spotlighting a trailblazing collective of queer Filipinx who built resistance, community and joy in
1990s NYC. Part protest, part party, the film is also a love letter to today’s QTBIPOC communities.
The night continues with Lani T. Montreal’s solo performance, Anak ni Tapia: Leaving Mother, a witty mix of comedy, kundiman and storytelling that explores memory, migration and queer
identity while reflecting on growing up as the child of a Filipina television icon and carving out one’s path.
